RAKES, Louetta Jestin Stanley, age 83, of Meherrin, Va., born April 6, 1925, died November 11, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Early; and son, David. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Bolan and her husband, Jack; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Allen and her husband, Willie; six grandchildren, Kim Wingo of Jetersville, Va., Jack Bolan Jr., Jestin Hurtt, Sarah Duffey, Shannon Rakes, and Scott Rakes, all of Keysville; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters, Lowenna Pendleton of Martinsville, Va., Rhondalene Forney of Fredericksburg, Va., Audrey Stanley of Lexington, Ore., Vivia McFarland and husband, Bill, of Windsor, S.C., and Drema Byrd and husband, John, of Pawley's Island, S.C.; one brother, Don Stanley of Meadows of Dan, Va.; and a sister-in-law, Pauletta Stanley of Roanoke, Va. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Browning Funeral Home, with interment in the Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Charlotte County or Meherrin Volunteer Rescue Squad. The Browning Funeral Home in Keysville, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
