WINSTON, John W., 83, of Ashland, Va., departed this life Sunday morning, November 16, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nola M. Winston. He is survived by three sisters, Augusta Stringfellow of Mt. Rainier, Md., Geraldine Eskridge of Richmond, Va. and Arlene Hunter of Washington, D.C.; four sisters-in-law; a special devoted friend, Mrs. Helen Holmes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His remains rest at the Henry W. Dabney Funeral Home, 518 N. Washington Hwy., Ashland, Va., and will be available for viewing Friday, November 21, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and one hour prior to homegoing services. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Beaverdam, Va. Pastor Dr. John W. Kinney officiating. Interment in Roselawn Memory Gardens, Glen Allen, Va. Family and friends please assemble at the church at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday.
