Myrteen Davis Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch on Nov. 18, 2008.
DAVIS, Myrteen, 87, of Jackson's Creek, passed away November 16, 2008 at her home. Myrteen was born November 18, 1920 at the Davis family home place, on Jackson's Creek, where she grew up and lived until she moved to the Washington D.C. area. Myrteen worked for C&P Telephone Company for 40 years until she retired and moved back to Virginia. After her retirement, she enjoyed being with her family, rocking in her chair, knitting and watching her elephant figurine collection grow. Myrteen is survived by two sisters, Ruth R. Winston and Mary Ellen Allen of Jackson's Creek; and one brother, Robert N. Davis and his wife, Laura, of Fredericksburg, Va. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marie A. Davis; a brother, Frank B. Davis Jr.; nephew, Michael G. Allen; and a niece, Anna Marie Winston. Myrteen will be missed greatly by nine nieces and nephews, six great-nieces and nephews, two great-great-nephews; and her very caring nurse, Connie Balderson. A graveside service will be held at Old Yeocomico Church on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Bon Secours Hospice, 1822 Tappahannock Blvd., Tappahannock, Va. 22560 or a charity of your choice. Dearest Ruth and family:

Oh No! Not another Pecatonian! There soon shall be none left!

Our deepest sympathy in the loss of Myrteen. I know that you, Ruth will especially be lost. I know of no other two sisters who were as close as were you and Myrteen. What words can help to take away the pain that now is in your heart? All we can say is "God Bless You" and "We Love You".

Love and Prayers,

Anna, Dale and Ernie
