Dear Murray and Dede,
Murray, we are so sorry to hear of your wife's passing. Pinky was always a great friend and a truly loving person.
Dede, please try to take some comfort in rememberance of the times you spent together. I really can't find the words, just know that our thoughts are with you and your family.

Dear Murrie,
I was shocked to hear this evening of Pinky's untimely passing. Of course, I didn't know that she had health problems to that extent. I had only seen you two recently when I was down at the APVA for the first time in several years, and I am so glad I had the opportunity to have dinner with you one last time. Even though I lived away, it was always great to see you and Pinky at the APVA reunions. I will send a note or call later, but just wanted to extend my sincere condolences immediately.

Mr. Bates,
I was saddened to learn of your wife's passing. She was an amazingly strong woman who always put on her best face, even in the most difficult times. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. May you be comforted by the memories and strenghtened knowing that she is truly at peace. Sincerely, Laura Savage RN

Murrie,
My deepest sympathy on your loss. Pinkie was a very special person and one of my most warmly regarded teachers. She will be missed. I am glad that some of my outbursts in her class made her smile. I know she must be smiling now.

Murrie Bates,
As soon as I saw this notice, I thought of someone in my past - Murrie Bates, principal of Ratcliff Elem. in Henrico Co. and I also thought of his son. I work at Rich. Times Newspaper part-time, along with my full time job teaching, and also endorsed in administration. I served as the SCA Pres. at Ratcliffe when I was in the 6th grade. My elem. years were so rewarding and an excellent memory. I am so sorry to hear of your loss, for I work in the obituary dept. of the newspaper. I am thinking of your father and would like to know how well he is. Your wife was very young, and my prayers and sympathy are for you.
