Carroll W. Sadler

SADLER, Carroll W., 95, of Portsmouth, Va., died November 29, 2008, in his residence. He was born in Weems, Va. (Lancaster County), and was the son of the late George and Clara Sadler. Carroll was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Sadler. He retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard with 36 years of service, and was a member of Claybrook Baptist Church and an avid craftsman. Carroll is survived by a son, James Woodrow Sadler Sr. of Ruther Glen, Va.; a daughter, Nancy Sadler Miller of Hartfield, Va.; a sister, Alma Sadler Dunaway of Portsmouth, Va.; a grandson, James "Jay" W. Sadler Jr. of Columbia, S.C.; a granddaughter, Stephanie Sadler Walston of Farnham, Va.; and nine great- grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2008, in Olive Branch Cemetery.
