WILLIAMSON, Martha Thompson, 94, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Everett Williamson Jr.; and son, L. Everett Williamson III. She is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn W. Eck and her husband, Richard; daughter-in-law, Anne G. Williamson; niece, Patricia T. Shanks; grandchildren, Everett Williamson IV, John Williamson, Charles, Rick and Nelson Eck, Martha Eck Ramirez; also six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2008, in the Nelsen Funeral Home's Reid Chapel, 412 South Washington Highway, Ashland. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 5, at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 15583 Coatesville Road, Beaverdam, Va. 23015, or the American Diabetes Association.

Martha was one of the sweetest ladies I've ever known. I'll have many wonderful memories of her to treasure. She wanted to go home for so long, and now she's there with her Mom, son, hubby, brother and so many other people who loved here dearly.
