Lewis "Wayne" Gray

GRAY, Lewis "Wayne," 69, of Doswell, passed away on December 3, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nannie and Cornelius Gray; and eight brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Audrey Gray; one daughter, Deborah Bailey and her husband, Mike; one son, Wesley Gray and his wife, Tammy; three grandsons, Kody and Seth Bailey, Dylan Gray; one stepgranddaughter, Savannah Hutchinson; and one sister, Catherine Willis. Wayne was a member of Independence Christian Church, where he sang in the choir for over 25 years, and a member of the Ruritan Club for 30 years. He was the meat cutter at Cross Brothers Grocery for 45 years. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 5, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Nelsen Funeral Home's Reid Chapel, 412 South Washington Highway, Ashland. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 6, at 11 a.m. at Independence Christian Church, with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Independence Christian Church Bell Tower Fund or Bon Secours Hospice.
