George Wiley Tapscott

TAPSCOTT, George Wiley, 86, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Katheryn; sons, Craig Tapscott of Los Angeles, Calif., and Steve Tapscott and his wife, Lisa, of Midlothian, Va. He is also survived by his brother, Harold Tapscott and his wife, Mary Lou; two stepdaughters, Cynthia Amend of Dayton, Ohio, and Jancie Baum and her husband, Jim, of Midlothian; and five stepgrandchildren. Mr. Tapscott was a retired store manager of Sears & Roebuck in Richmond, a WWII Marine veteran and was a former secretary and longtime contributing member of Bon Air Rotary Club. He was a member and a deacon of Southampton Baptist Church in Richmond. The family will receive friends this Friday, December 5, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 6, at the Southampton Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Dale Memorial Park.
