Raquel Perez Tapscott, age 60, passed away on August 10, 2025, peacefully at home with her daughter and son-in-law by her side.

Everyone knew her as Rachel. Rachel was born on November 29, 1964 to Elias and Crecencia Perez. She graduated from A.C. Jones High School in 1983.

Rachel enjoyed being with family, dining out, and meeting new people. She just loved everyone. She will always be remembered for her ability to only remember happy times and see the good in everyone. Rachel loved talking and telling stories. She loved laughing and making others laugh.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Rachel is preceded in death by her parents, Elias and Crecencia Perez; her brothers, Elias Perez and Mayo Perez; and her sister, Olga (Perez) Swan.

Rachel is survived by her ex-husband, David Tapscott; daughter, Natasha (Tapscott) Villarreal; her daughter's husband, Mark Villarreal; her six grandchildren, Mark Jr, Molli, Vaden, Maddix, Helena, and Christian; her sisters, Elia Johnson, Diana Perez, and Esther Perez; and nieces and nephews, Victoria Keelan Watts, James Cox, Jacquelyn (Johnson) Tatum, Elether Johnson, Patti Johnson, Chris Hurst, Christina Hurst, Michael Cox, and Dominique Perez.
