DIXON, Ms. Mamie, of Richmond, formerly of Halifax, departed this life December 9, 2008. She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Dixon. She is survived by two daughters, Shanitra and Tiffany Dixon; her mother, Hilda Dixon; two sisters, Marie Dixon and Barbara Roberts; six brothers, Joseph, Carl, Charlie and Jessie Gilmore, Randy and Orange Dixon; five aunts, one uncle, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, three sisters-in-law, and other relatives and friends, among them a devoted Beverly Batts. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave., where funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home 12:45 p.m. Monday. Online condolences can be made at www.jenkinsjr.com.
