STAINBACK, Willie B. Jr., 73, of Carson, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2008 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Willie B. Stainback Sr. and Florence Winfield Stainback; and was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rebecca N. Stainback. Willie was a retired auto mechanic at the Ted Curry Motors, formerly in Petersburg. He is survived by his faithful and loving companion, Viola G. Wells; sons, Cecil Ray Stainback of Sussex and Mark E. Stainback of Richmond; sisters, Willie Mae Poarch of Dinwiddie, Grace Grizzard of Greensville, Emily Andre' of Gasper, Goldie Cox of Halifax County, N.C., Florence Scott of Virginia, and Olive Schnitz of North Carolina; brothers, Francis Stainback of Dallas, N.C., Albert Stainback of Westbury, N.Y., Rufus Stainback and Carroll Stainback, both of Colonial Heights; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2008, at Tabernacle Methodist Church, Carson, with the Rev. John Romain officiating. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
