Professor Shepherd was a generous mentor and a close friend. I am privileged to have studied under him, laughed with him, traded Orioles anecdotes with him, and observed as he masterfully used his profession (and well-earned professional stature) as a springboard to make the world better for children and the underprivileged. My deepest sympathies to his wife, children, and extended family.

I have practiced law for 23 years, and I have called Bob Shepherd for advice many times, and he always took the time to help me. He will be greatly missed by attorneys across the state. Many people "practice" law. Bob Shepherd PERFECTED law.

Dearest Nancy, Kara, Courtney & Family,
I'm so very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. If there ever was a more poignant example of a gentleman in the brief time I met him, Bob was certainly that. I am thinking of you all with much fondness and sympathy today.
May God bless you all and the entire Shepherd family at this time.
With love,
Lisa & Barry Glancy

I am so very sorry to hear of Bob's death on Thursday. He was a remarkable man who did so much to leave the world a better place. He has been an inspiration to me. I will greatly miss his perspectives, his energy, his unwavering commitment to children, and his hope that the Orioles will come back in another season. I am so sorry for your family's loss.

Anyone blessed enough to have known Professor Shepherd surely is a better person because of it. His kindness was an example to us all. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

This world is far richer for having had Professor Bob Shepherd among us, and now it is far poorer for losing his daily presence. There are few who have made such a difference to so many. Sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Remember
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
