Uncle Vinnie was warm, sincere, upbeat and had a great sense of humor. He came into our lives quite by chance many years ago when he ran into my Dad. They did not know each other but in the conversation learned they had something very interesting in common. Vinnie was from Teaneck, NJ and so was my Mom. The conversation continued and it turned out that the Lauzon boys knew the Hansen girls from high school days. Phone numbers were exchanged and one thing lead to another and after a few years Vinnie married Aunt Norma and joined our family. We always knew that if Uncle Vinnie was going to be at a family gathering there would always be plenty of jokes and teasing. There was always laughter.

I remember one Christmas Day when Uncle Vinnie and Aunt Norma lived on the lake in NJ. My Mom and Dad and us Hansen kids, our spouses and our kids were at their house for the day. The lake was frozen and we were all going to do a little ice skating. My sister Brenda fell through the ice and broke her wrist and we rushed her to the hospital. Vinnie was the driver. We left her there with her husband to be cared for as it was a bad break and then spent a couple of hours driving all over the place looking for baby formula and bottles. Brenda had been nursing her baby but with the pain medication she had to take she could not continue and we needed to find formula for Niel. It was Christmas Day evening and we searched everywhere before we found a convenience store that actually had some formula. Uncle Vinnie was not going to give up until he succeeded. That was a crazy day and some driving on Uncle Vinnie's part that I will never forget. He missed his calling with Nascar! I think about that adventurous day every Christmas.

Uncle Vinnie, you will be missed for the love and the sunshine you brought into so many peoples lives. I know that Poppop, Daddy and Cliff were there waiting for you as were others who loved you and whose lives you touched. We so miss all of you!

Uncle Vinnie, may you rest in eternal peace in His arms!

Love,

Kristie

Dear Aunt Norma,

Our thoughts, prayers and hearts go out to you, the children and the grandchildren during this sad time.

You and Uncle Vinnie welcomed me into your family with open arms, love and laughter, and of course I enjoyed the razzing Uncle Vinnie gave me about marrying a Hansen! (ha,ha) I will always treasure the day we gathered at your home on July 1, 2007. It was a special day filled with memories of being with family and meeting new friends. You and Vinnie made that day so great and I will never forget that.

We will truly miss Uncle Vinnie, but he will remain in our thoughts and memories for a lifetime.

Please know we are here for you and love you.

Love,
Debbie

Vinnie has been a huge part of my life and is difficult to imagine that he is really gone. I will never forget him teaching me to drive and all of those pratical jokes with his loud speaker in his car picking me and my friends up at Tysons Corner in High School! I think his favorite memory would be New Years of 2000 at Leigh Ann's house when he got his big kiss and hug and I told him I love him! He always knew I did but boy did he love to tease me! I will miss him... He was a great Grandpa to Martina and Clayton and they are just crushed that he is gone. We love you Vinnie!

Dawn ( your favorite step daughter!)

Vinnie's energy, sensitivity and humor will not be forgotten. His spirit is bigger than life! While his friends and family will miss him terribly, the memory of times shared will be everlasting. Vinnie was and will continue to be a ray of sunshine in our lives. Love to his family especially his beloved Norma - Margie

Uncle Vinnie was truly one of the good guys. I will always remember what a great friend he was to my Dad and Mom, and how he took care of my Aunt Norma.

His sarcastic wit was his calling card, and all of us can remember how much he made us laugh with a quick, unexpected one-liner. I never knew him to be in a less than totally happy mood and was always outgoing, friendly, and helpful to anyone he was around.

I have to share a story of when I first met him. I was home from college visiting NJ. My Dad had asked me to help him trim branches off of a tree Dad had just felled a tree in our back yard. I went to the basement and sharpened the ax and came outside to trim branches. I straddled the tree, and the first branch I struck caused the ax to glance off (I guess I was a little out of practice) and the ax landed in my foot. Needless to say there was much blood and a need to get to the hospital ASAP. Uncle Vinnie was my driver, and I never knew how close the hospital seemed with Vinnie at the wheel. Dale Earnhardt would have been proud.

I loved him a great deal, as do the rest of everyone who came in contact with him.....how could anyone not love Uncle Vinnie!?!

I will miss you a lot. Say "Hi" to Dad for me; I miss him too........

Vinnie, as most of us called him, was a thoroughly kind and generous person who always seemed to have a happy smile and good humor, which he loved to share with everyone. Fourth of July celebrations at the Lauzon home won't be the same without Vinnie there in person, but his spirit will be with us and never forgotten. May you rest in Peace, Vinnie. "Uncle Bill"

Vinnie was an outstanding member of the KIWS Rotary Club. As past membership co-chair with his great pal, Chuck Penrod, he was responsible for bringing in many new members to the club. Vinnie and his humor will be missed.
