ELLIS, Charlotte Pleasants, 81, of Sandston, went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 12, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, G.H. (Curly) Ellis III; a brother, Charles (Buck) Pleasants; and sisters, Jessie Pleasants, Emily Bilby, and Frances Hymes. She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Harris; two devoted sons, William (Pat) and Jimmy Ellis; grandchildren, Matt and Adrian; devoted grandchildren, Derrick, Carmen, Will, and Oscar; two great-grandchildren whom she never met; brothers, Curtis and Henry Pleasants; and sisters, Pearl Parker, Margarate Donahue, and Grace Wienstein. She also had many nieces and nephews and many dearly loved friends. Charlotte was a 33 year employee of the C & O Railroad. The family would like to give a special thanks to her nurse for the past four ½ years, Joy Renolds and her dog, Trixie, as well as Dr. William Moore and all the people from Bon Secours Hospice who helped Charlotte have a peaceful ending. The family will receive friends Monday, December 15, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. and where funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 16 at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Burial to follow at Washington Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Charlotte's name may be made to Bon Secours Hospice, 8580 Magellan Parkway, Richmond, Va. 23227.
