Sorry for the loss, but, as we have faith then we know Fr. Donald is in a better place. He was my teacher at BHS for years and always was interested in the Cadet's..encouraging us to behave. He was a great man.

I fondly remember Fr. Donald, while at student at both Benedictine and Belmont Abbey College. His stature created a strong presence and he genuinely cared about people.
All of that and a character, too!

Today, Jimmy and I went to a Funeral at St. Benedict's and thought for sure that Fr. Donald would be doing the Mass. We were prepared to hear his homily....Forgive, Forgive, Forgive and Forgive.....Tell the Story! We will truly miss you, Father Donald. It was a gift and a pleasure to have know you for so many years. Rest in Peace.

Father Donald was one of my favorite priests at St. Benedict's Church. He knew my older brothers and my parents, and he always called me "Little Sister" whenever he administered Communion or when I went to him for Confession. I will miss his homilies which always included humor as well as sincere messages of faith and love. Rest in peace, Father Donald-you will be missed by all.

Fr. Donald had his own unique way of teaching. I doubt there is another teacher or priest in the world that offer words of wisdom, religious guidance or English grammar tips from a standing head lock. He was a special teacher and friend to countless cadets. His example shaped me into the teacher I am today. My life will be truly complete if I can make half the impression on my students that Fr. Donald made on me.

I will truely miss this man of God.He wasnot only a good friend but an outstanding Benedictine monk-priest. I first met Father Donald while as a student in the Prep. School and later on in my days in the College. Many years later he set me straight while he was Asst. Pastor at St. Michael's in Gastonia,N.C. I Owe him. I know that he is in Heaven with all the deceased monks especially Abbot Walter. Pray for me my dear friend.

Father Donald will never be forgotten, he sincerely listened to all who spoke, he greeted all who walked by, and loved all who came into his life. I was privileged to met him, work for him, pray with him, and be in his presence. At this time of gift giving I know I received a great gift in the wonder of Father Donald. I think God is enjoying the gift of Father Donald as he arrived at heaven's gate.

Father Donald was more than a priest or a teacher to me. He was my friend. I will miss him putting me in headlock and asking me, "How are you today my child?" Father Donald took his time to listen to me and to help me when I needed a friend or a guide through life the most. He taught me that it took a true man to show his emotions, that it was ok for the world to see you cry. Father D if you look down you will see all of us crying now. My thoughts and prayers are with all the members of the Benedictine Family and the family of Father Donald. We all share the loss of a great teacher and friend. His memory will live on in our stories of him.

It is with deep sadness to hear of Father Donald passing. He was our favorite priest while we were members of St. Benedict Church. He always found ways to make you laugh and still offered words of comfort in time of need. Father Donald officiated our wedding in 1983, bapitized our son and gave eulogies for our parents. We will miss his gentle soul and kind heart.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.
