William Robertson Obituary

ROBERTSON, William E. Sr. "Bill", 76, of Richmond, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, January 16, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Barbara L. Robertson; his two children and their spouses, Margaret and Lester Foutz, Bill Jr. and Cari Robertson; his stepson and his wife, Chris and Michelle Hawkins; six grandchildren, Chris Robertson and Lucas Parks, Jack and Chandler Robertson, and Berkley and Lauren Hawkins; a brother-in-law, Bill Lynch; and several nieces and nephews. Bill was born in Cambridge, Maryland and grew up in Charlottesville, Va. He moved to Richmond for his work and later founded Wm. Robertson Contracting. He served his country in the Marine Corps Reserves and the U.S. Army. He was an active member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church and was a charter member of Lakeside Moose Lodge #1714. The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bliley's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave.. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Giles Presbyterian Church. Interment to follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Va. 23060 or Odyssey Heathcare of Richmond, 8000 Franklin Farms Drive, Suite 100, Richmond, Va. 23229. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Odyssey Healthcare for the kind and outstanding care shown to Bill and Barbara.
