JOHNSON, Edward Carey, 88, of Sandston, died Thursday, January 22, 2009. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen Christine Gallmeyer; and his second wife, Nell F. Maxim. He is survived by his nephews, James G. Johnson of Richmond, William G. and Ronald C. Smith of Havertown, Pa.; brother-in-law, William F. Gallmeyer and his wife, Marilyn, of Sandston, and their sons, Louis A. and Steven W. Gallmeyer. Also surviving are stepchildren, Debra L. Martin, Donald C. and David L. Maxim. Ed was the former co-owner and operator of Johnson's Auto Service & Parts, Inc. in Fulton. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, a 61-year member of First English Evangelical Lutheran Church, a member of the Thomas N. Davis Lodge No. 351 AF&AM, Babcock Lodge No. 322 AF&AM, the Richmond Scottish Rite bodies, a Past Patron of Naomi Chapter #4 O.E.S, and a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxillary. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Laburnum Chapel. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First English Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2011 Building Fund, 1603 Monument Ave., Richmond, Va. 23220.

I only knew you for a few years, but you were always nice to me. I enjoyed having you at Mom & Donald's for holidays and just the occasional dinner. you will be missed Mr. Ed.
