We all miss you like crazy Nana. Wish you could have seen Pa's face when he held his great-great grandson. Wish you had been there too. I love you!

When I picture your face, I see the warmth of your smile...constant as the Northern star.

Nana,
I miss you every day. You taught me so much. Every time I see a flower I think of you. I hope I can be half as good a grandma as you were to me. I wish you could be here to hold your great-great grandchild and love it as you always have all of us. You are the first person I want to talk to when I am happy or sad. You always said what I needed to hear, good or bad. I am thankful that I was able to be with you and take care of you as you always took care of me. I will cherish those memories, just as I cherish the times on the boat, working in the yard, making Christmas ornaments, eating your "Nana" pickles & just being in your company. You always put all of your family first. I love you always and you will forever be in my heart and my example of what a "real woman" should be.

John, I really enjoyed seeing and talking with you last week. Sorry it had to be under those circumstances. Sharon and I always treasured our time with you and Ruthe, and we have really missed seeing you since Tracy came to live with us, and slowed us down on traveling. We plan on coming by to see you in the next 30 days when we are in Richmond.

Dear John,
Margaret and I were so sorry to hear that Ruthe has passed away. Although we haven't seen you in several years, we often think of the great times we had with you and Ruthe and the Virginia Yacht Club. My year as your Fleet Captain was a memorable one ("hear ye, hear ye"). You were a great Commodore, and Margaret and I will always remember the kindness and consideration shown to us by you and Ruthe. May God bless you and your family, and may the happy memories help ease the pain of your loss.
Sincerely,
"H" and Margaret Page

Dear John and Family,
Mary Charlotte and I were so sorry to learn of Ruthe's passing. We will never forget her wonderful smile and friendship. The two of you were so nice to us when we "moved in" the slip next to you at Windmill Point. We had many great times together, especially in the late afternoons when we would gather on each others boat for a cocktail. Ruthe was very special to us and all of you are in our thoughts and prayers. The Kelly's

Crossing the Bar
Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,
But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.
Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;
For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crost the bar.

John,
Burgel and I want to express our deepest sympathy for your loss. I knew Ruthe longer than Burgel but we both thought a lot of her. Please know that we are thinking of you and we hope that our thoughts can make your day a little brighter.

We know how much your "Grammy" meant to you, so we're praying that your deepest sorrow can find some comfort in knowing that your "Grammy" is at peace now and awaits for those she loves with open arms.
