SMITH, Sylvia R., of Richmond, entered into eternal rest January 28, 2009. She is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Thomas H. Smith; her daughter, Linda Beasley; her son, Pete Godfrey; four stepchildren, Sam and Gary Smith, Bonnie Holt and Stacey Martin; her sister, Gloria Martin; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, William C. Fones. Mrs. Smith retired from C&P Telephone Company after 30 years of service. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday (today) at Bliley's-Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Riverview Cemetery.
