SHARP, Ralph L. "Buck," 83, of Montpelier, husband of the late Elsie Foster Sharp, passed away January 31, 2009. Preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Sharp, he is survived by his son, Gene R. Sharp Sr. and wife, Virginia Willis Sharp, and one grandson, Gene R. Sharp Jr., of Atlanta, Ga.; and two brothers, Joseph "Boots" Sharp and wife, Velma, and William "Ray" Sharp and wife, Joyce. Buck retired from American Tobacco Company after 34 years of service, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. The family will receive family and friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Bliley's - Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Road, where services will be held 12 noon Wednesday. Interment Church of Our Savior Episcopal Church Cemetery, Montpelier, Va. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Hope United Methodist Church, 11325 Mount Hope Church Road, Doswell, Va. 23047.
