Oh it is so heartbreaking for me to see this. Jim and I were friends in high school, and lately I've been thinking about all that his friendship meant to me. So in just now looking him up, I found this news that he passed in 2009. I'll be forever grateful for him in this world.

Mr. and Mrs. Grimsley and family,
I have such fond memories of Jim from Operation Mexico 1972! We ran into each other when he returned to UVA to finish his studies. I have thought about him often over the years and sorry that we lost touch.

We loved Jim and will miss his voice, his laughter, his qick wit, and gentle care he provided for his friends as well as his cats.
We always will remember the smell of fresh bread baked in his kitchen and the gardens he so lovingly tended. A truer friend no man could ever have.
Rest in Peace our loving friend.

As a new day dawns, our thoughts continue with the entire family. The love we feel for each of you surely passes easily over the miles that separate us. May each day be a little brighter for family and friends. Love always, Pat

Death is a heartache no one can heal, but love is a memory no one can steal. Jim always has a special place in my heart because of our love for animals and our ties in North Carolina. He always found a way to make me laugh and I loved being able to spend time with him. He was such a special person; so genuine and kind. We will all miss him greatly and think of him always.
