GREGORY, Charles E. "Buddy" Sr., 86, of Williamsburg, formerly of Richmond, entered into eternal peace at his home, surrounded by his loving family members, Sunday, February 22, 2009. He was a retired CMSgt. in the U.S. Air Force, and served in both World War II and the Korean Conflict, and was a past member of the American Legion and VFW. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Margaret Joyce Flammia Gregory. He was happiest when in the company of his family. He is survived by his son, Charles Edwin Gregory Jr. and his wife, Ethlyn, of Richmond; his daughter, Brenda Gregory Hughes and her husband, John L., of Williamsburg; five grandchildren, John (Jay) L. Hughes Jr. and his wife, Eleanor Anne, of Richmond, Charles (Trey) E. Gregory III and his wife, Jamie, of Chester, Tricia Hughes and Terri Hughes, both of Williamsburg, and Cassie Gregory of Richmond; one precious great-granddaughter, Winnie Hughes of Richmond; a brother, Ernest Gregory of Richmond; and a sister, Evelyn Lewter, formerly of Richmond. A special thanks to his caregivers, Esther and Eula, who were with him to the end, and to Riverside Hospice, Newport News, for their compassion and assistance. Funeral service will be held at Bliley's - Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment to follow, Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
