Anna S. Stavredes

STAVREDES, Anna S., 98, died on Monday, February 23, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Costas "Gus" Stavredes; and is survived by her three children, Connie Ahladas, Thomas Stavredes, and Pete Stavredes (Roberta); six grandchildren, John Ahladas (Eva), Gus Ahladas (Debbie), Deanna Ahladas, Kevin Stavredes (Gina), Nicole Shonts, and Anna L. Stavredes; three great-grandchildren, Zoe Stavredes, Peter Stavredes, and Sawyer Shonts; her nephew, Gus Linardos (Beverly) and several other relatives and friends. She was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral for over 80 years and was the last of the founders of the Cathedral's Ladies Philoptochos Society. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bliley's - Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., with a Trisagion prayer service at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Interment will follow in Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cathedral's - Stavredes Scholarship Fund, 30 Malvern Ave., Richmond, Va. 23221.
