SLAUGHTER, Richard Dennis "Dick", 83, of Victoria, Va., died February 28, 2008. He was the widower of Alease Crenshaw Slaughter. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard D. "Ricky" Slaughter Jr. and wife, Bonnie, of Kenbridge; one granddaughter, Kaitlynn Slaughter of Richmond; and sister, Ruth S. Hendricks of Kenbridge. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Staples Funeral Home, Victoria. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, March 2, 2009, 11 a.m. in Lakeview Cemetery, Victoria. Staples Funeral Home, Victoria, in charge of arrangements.
