Jack Hoover Wyatt

WYATT, Jack Hoover, of Richmond, widower of Bernice W. "Bun" Wyatt, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009, on his 80th birthday. He is survived by his son, Russell G. Wyatt and his wife, Sarah Jane; daughter, Sally W. Roddey and her husband, Stewart; and son, John A. Wyatt and his wife, Cary, all of Richmond; seven grandchildren, Ben, Stewart, Andrew, Helen, Jack, Hardy and Gordon; his sister, Eleanor W. Shotwell of Danville; three brothers, Ben J. Wyatt, Billy H. Wyatt, both of Mt. Airy, Va., and Mack H. Wyatt of Staunton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Luise W. Patterson, Katherine Wyatt; brothers, Walter Wyatt, Jerry Wyatt; and three infant siblings who died at birth. Born in Mt. Airy, Va., he was a 1956 graduate of the University of Richmond. Mr. Wyatt completed banking school at LSU. He retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond as Vice-President of Public Relations. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Wyatt served on the boards of VCU, the Virginia Home for Boys & Girls, The Commonwealth Club and The Country Club of Virginia. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. There will be a reception at The Commonwealth Club on Friday, March 6, from 4 to 6 p.m. for family and friends. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Virginia Home for Boys & Girls, 8716 W. Broad St., Richmond, Va. 23294.
