Harry William Winter

WINTER, Harry William, 68, of Glen Allen, went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, March 7, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph E. Winter and Catherine L. Winter; and a grandson, David James Peltier. He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 41 years, Brenda C. Winter; two sons, Harry William Winter Jr. and David S. Winter and fiancee', Phyllis MacPherson; two daughters, Carol M. Miles and Samantha R. Payne and husband, David; 10 grandchildren, Mandi, Amber, Harley, Phillip, Andrew, James, Richard, Robert, Scottie and Annlynn; and one great-grandchild on the way; five brothers, Joe Ed, Jimmy, Bobby, Dicky, and Tony; six sisters, Mary, Barbara, Kathy, Patty, Sherry, and Karen Sue; and friends, Jim Shields and Bill Drezer. Harry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be missed forever, but never forgotten. He was an avid hunter, a member of Silver Spring Masonic Temple, Lodge No. 215, A.F. & A.M., and a member of the Ashland Moose Lodge No. 2099, a retired police officer from Forest Heights, Maryland, and a Special Police Officer from Washington, D.C. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad St., where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, March 12, with entombment to follow in Signal Hill Memorial Park.
