To Leon and the Corbin Family

Those we love must someday pass
beyond our present sight.
Must leave us and the world we know,
Without their radiant light.

But we know that like a candle,
Their lively light will shine.
To brighten up another place
more perfect, more divine.

And and in the realm of heaven
Where they shine so warm and bright,
Our loved one lives forever
In God's eternal light.

To the Corbin Family,

My deepest sympathy to you in your lost; I enjoyed having the opportunity to know Ruby to sing and worship with her. Ruby was a special caring lady. I also enjoyed hearing her sing "I Stepped Out". Ruby is in a better place and watching over her family and singing in the alto section of the Heavenly Choir. I’ll miss you Ruby.

When Karen and I visited your Mom on Overbrook Rd., I remember her saying that whenever her boys left the house she would say a little prayer. She would pray that an angel would be dispatched to watch over you while you were out and to safely bring you home. She is now the angel that will be watching over her children.

Take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace. Call me if you need me.

To the Corbin Family:
Please accept my heartfelt condolences in the home-going of your mother. Ruby and I were members of the Mass Choir and I used to love to hear her sing "I Stepped Out". She shared with me that this song was very dear to her heart, and you knew it was true because she put her WHOLE HEART into singing it. I admired her honesty and straight forwardness. She will be truly missed but thank God for such a wonderful mother, who loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally.

May God Bless you all.

To Winnie, June and the rest of my family;

My husband and I send our sincerest condolences to all of you. We know that the many words of sympathy, the multitude of cards and the mass of flowers that you will receive with not ease the pain that lingers. But, have faith that God will give you strength. He makes no mistake in his actions and he knew the perfect moment, the perfect day and the perfect time to call this beautiful woman home to be with him. Surely, her presence will be sorely missed but her soul has been set free. No pain or suffering shall torment her again. Rest in God's peace Ruby!

I love you guys and I'm only a phone call away.

Wendell,
I am so hurt to know that Ms. Ruby has passed. She was like a mother to me when we were growing up, and I loved her like one. I will never forget the nickname she gave me, "Sonya-Bagonya". Her and my mother looked alike, acted alike and stayed on our butts alike. Lol. They didn't play with us. I remember when she used to come over our house and get her hair done, and her and my mother would be in the kitchen acting up, laughing and trippin' as loud as they wanted to. I remember the when she let you drive the brown Tempo for the first time, she thought you was a safe driver, but you was running lights and everything, and me sitting up in there like a dummy, just a riding. I have so many memories of her and Ms. Helen, when y'all used to live across the street from us in the West End. Man, and the food they used to cook was off the chain. Those were the good old days. But, if there is anything you need don't hesitate to call me, and I mean that. Just leave everything in GOD'S hand and let HIM do what He do, because only HE knows best. HE called His little angel, Ms. Ruby, home because it was time for her to take her rest.

Love you for life,
Your friend for life,
Sonya-Bagonya

P.S.- June, I love you too, big brother.
