Badeha Jameel Shaban

Shaban, Badeha Jameel, 85, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Widow of Jameel Assad Shaban, she is survived by her children, Namet and her husband, Nagib Shaban, Izzat and his wife, Fadwa Shaban, Kareem (A.K.) and his wife, Kay Shaban and Ronnie and his wife, Janet Shaban; 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, all of Richmond. Badeha and her husband, Jameel, came to Hopewell, Va., in 1953 from Lebanon and opened the Mirror Restaurant in Richmond in 1960, and were very instrumental in the growth and support of the Lebanese Community in Richmond. Her funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2009, at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. Interment Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ADS of Richmond, 11906 Longfellow Drive, Midlothian, Va., 23112.
