Aubrey Ross Johnson

JOHNSON, Aubrey Ross, 87, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 from complications after surgery. He was a native of Keyser, W.Va., and is survived by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Barbara; son, Jeffrey Johnson and wife, Patsy, of Fredericksburg, Va.; daughter, Jill J. Helmus of Richmond, Va.; two grandsons, Jeffrey B. Johnson and wife, Curtina, of Fredericksburg, Va. and Jason B. Johnson and fianc‚e, Jarman R. Fagalde', of Richmond, Va.; and one great-grandson, J. Benjamin Johnson of Fredericksburg, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis W. and Maggie S. Johnson of Keyser, W.Va.; sister, Esta J. Gittings of Baltimore, Md.; and son-in-law, Brian C. Helmus of Richmond, Va. Aubrey served as a dive bomber pilot in the Navy in WWII, was an avid sportsman, and ended his professional career as Vice President of Merchandising for GC Murphy where he worked for over 42 years, retiring in 1982. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Epiphany Lutheran Church, 1400 Horsepen Road, Richmond, Va. 23226. He will be interred in Arlington National Cemetery when he is joined in death by his beloved Barbara, where they will be interred together. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lakeside Lutheran Church, 2427 Eaton Ferry Road, Littleton, N.C. 27850, or Epiphany Lutheran Church in Richmond, Va.
