Sylvia Marie Gwinn

GWINN, Sylvia Marie, 88, of Colonial Heights, formerly of Richmond, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2009 at the Dunlop House. She was the daughter of the late James A. and Nevada Parsons Brunty; and the widow of Herschel G. Gwinn. Mrs. Gwinn was a member of Hatcher Memorial Baptist Church, Richmond, and a past Matron of the Glen Allen Chapter 61 Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by a son, Robert Lee Gwinn and wife, Carolyn, of Colonial Heights; three grandchildren, Michael B. Gwinn and wife, Stacy, and Christopher L. Gwinn and wife, Kena, all of Chesterfield and Kathryn M. Gwinn of Webster, Texas; one great-grandson, M. Bryan Gwinn Jr.; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Carly LaForge. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2009 in Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23238, with the Reverend Guy Murdock officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (tonight) at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
