BREWSTER, Robert Owen, 81, of Mechanicsville, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009. He was preceded in death by his sweetie, Helen. He is survived by three daughters, Janie Lucy and husband, Herb, Donna Jones and husband, Danny, and Theresa Brewster; 13 grandchildren, Davy Davis, Lorraine Davis, Detrick Jones and wife, Amanda, Andrew Jones and wife, Amanda, Bryce Jones, Christian Lucy, Joshua Toms, Benjamin, Andrew, Christian, Jonathan, Bethany, and Nathaniel Toms-Lucy; and 3 great-grandchildren, Hailey and Nathan Jones and Jacob Davis; along with his devoted caregiver, Rose Marie Blake (Sugar Baby). The family will receive visitors on Friday, September 11 from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Nelsen Funeral Home - Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, September 12 with burial in Signal Hill Memorial Park.

Bob & Helen were two of the first people we met when Lorie and I moved to Ashland 13 years ago. They were incredibly warm and welcoming to a pair of Yankees. Bob always reminded me of my Dad - they were the about the same age and they would have been buddies had they met. I loved Bob's smile, great humor and wonderful positive attitude. He will be missed greatly.
