Sharon Parrish Obituary

PARRISH, Sharon Lee, born Sharon Lee Lewis of Petersburg, Va., passed away at age 52 on Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Mrs. Parrish died of natural causes. She is survived by her loving mother, Mildred Kennedy; her siblings, Ellen Rock, Robert Lewis Jr. and June Bookhamer; her children, Jennifer Cox, Kelly Wilson; and her baby boy, Jerry Lee Jr.; her sons-in-law, Jory Cox and Sgt. Ricky Wilson Jr.; three grandchildren, Jessica Marie (Jennifer), Ariana Rose and Emily Neveah (Kelly); as well as many nieces, nephews, and family friends. Sharon was better known to many as "Pleasant." She had a gentle smile, vivid blue eyes and the voice of an angel. Throughout the tri-city area she graced many with her heavenly voice and serene stage presence. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Aubrey Kennedy (Buddy); her brothers, John Lewis and Don Barron; and grandchild, Lily Renee. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Pocahontas State Park, 1301 State Park Rd., Chesterfield, Va. Information will be provided at the gate with a state parking fee of five dollars. All who knew her are welcome to attend. Special thanks from the family goes to Dwayne Cox, Gary Briggs, Ricky Wilson Sr., Michelle Brockwell, Margret and Jerry Lee Sr., and the United State Marine Corps for sending Sgt. Wilson home for the Memorial.

To my family, I greatly appreciate all of the support my sister and brother and I have recieved from you all. My mom will be greatly missed. I think of her everyday, I even still try to call her. It's going to be a hard transission, but I think we will pull through. Thanks again to everyone, we love you all.
