SHACKELTON, Virginia Lee, of Midlothian, passed away on September 17, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Phillip L. Shackelton. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Looney and her husband, Terry; son, Bruce Shackelton and his wife, Jan; grandchildren, Andrew Looney and his wife, Erin, Melissa Looney, Craig Looney, Ryan Shackelton and his wife, Rachel, Robert Shackelton and his wife, Erica; and two great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Spring Arbor of Salisbury staff for their compassionate care over the past two years, and to Bon Secours Hospice and Senior Solutions of Richmond for their role over the past month. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bon Secours Hospice, 8580 Magellan Pkwy., Richmond, Va. 23227. Interment private Arlington National Cemetery.
