TRUSLOW, Florence Chenault, 92, died September 19, 2009 at her residence in Gwynnfield. She was born on May 25, 1917 in Caroline County, Va. The widow of Henry Lee Truslow, she was the daughter of Headly Vicus and Maggie Lumpkin Chenault. In addition to her parents, her sisters, Nellie Taylor and Ruby Farmer, and her brothers, Rudolph, Willie, Herndon, Edgar Lee, and Arthur Chenault predeceased her. Florence is survived by her daughter, Judy Allen of Gwynnfield, and son, Kenneth Lee Truslow and his wife, Faye, of King George. "Grandma," "Nana" as she was lovingly called, is also survived by her grandchildren, Karen Leigh Truslow, Jeffrey Todd Truslow and his wife, Shari, Jennifer Allen Wilson and her husband, Chris, and Laura Leah Allen; her great- grandchildren, Bradley, Tyler, Juliet, Kaylee, and Eli Truslow, Justin Probst, and Abbie Wilson. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Allen of Champlain, many nieces and nephews, and a loving caregiver, Nancy Pollard. Florence and Henry owned and operated "Truslow's Store" at Champlain for 32 years. She was a lifelong member of Upper Essex Baptist Church, Country Friends, XYZ Club, and NARFE. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 1 p.m. in the Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment Upper Essex Baptist Church Cemetery. While flowers are welcomed, memorials may be made to the Cemetery Fund of Upper Essex Baptist, P.O. Box 225, Caret, Va. 22436.
