Hello Mom,
I know I am a day early, but I am teaching Math tomorrow 9/21/2022, shock of the century to kids with learning disabilities. I use a few items from Grams sewing basket to help with simple Math. Believe it or not I get my nails done every 2 weeks now, remember doing that with you, enjoyed it and think of you often while doing it now. You are missed Mom. 14th year

Mom,
I found three dresses that Grams made for you, the red ball gown, the white evening dress and the brown day suit, I have hung them up in my sewing room, good memories of the two strong women in my life. Yes I still sew, learned how to quilt and do a lot of quilting for kids and the homeless in Texas. This year has been one of reflection and I find myself missing you my Dear Mother and your handsome Marine, my Dad. Found my favorite picture of you two outside Meadowbrook Country Club at Thanksgiving, it showed the depth of the love you both shared. I say a Rosary everyday, hopefully you hear my prayers. Love you Mom. Mary K

It has taken me a few days to figure out how to thank you all for your many thoughts of support, your prayers and your shared memories of our Mother, Ruth Holicky. But we all know Mom is young again, riding horses, surrounded by all who have waited for her to join them and her beloved dogs. We will all continue our lives knowing that Mom will be looking out for us providing her love, support and guidance from a distance..... Love ya, Mom.

I had the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Holicky (and her husband Joe) while working in their retirement community. My fondest memory of Miss Ruth is whenever she would come back from getting her hair done she would be wearing the biggest smile due to all the compliments she would receive. The devotion Mr. & Mrs. Holicky always displayed is an inspiration to us all.

I'm very sorry to hear about Mrs. Holicky. I spent a lot of time at Falling Creek since my mom (Agnes Burr) was a teacher there for many years. Like Anne DuVal mentioned I often had to call my mom for something or other and Mrs. Holicky was always so sweet to give her messages for me. She was a treasured part of that school and will be remembered by so many people whose lives she touched. You are in my prayers.

Tim, Mary, Joe, Dave, Mark and Colonel Holicky, our prayers and thoughts are with all of you. I remembered calling school often needing to talk to my mom and Mrs. Holicky was always so helpful. My heart aches for you. I'm sorry for your great loss. My boys attended Falling Creek in the late 70s & 80s. Ruth always was very helpful and involved with families, PTA supporter. I would come to the office to print the newsletter for the PTA. She instructed me on the use of the stencil using machine. I remember seeing them in attendance at St. Augustine church many years back. May happy memories carry you through this sorrowful time.
