Michael CONNALLY Obituary

CONNALLY, Michael Lloyd, 53, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, October 1, 2009, after a courageous battle with Huntington's Disease. He was a graduate of Radford University and a former sports reporter. He was a dear and sweet person who was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew L. Connally and Dillie T. McGarry; a sister, Andrea C. Owen; and his stepfather, Edward J. McGarry. He is survived by his devoted aunt, Shirley E. Phillips (Henry); a nephew, Justin W. Owen (Jen); a cousin, Adam C. Phillips; a stepbrother, Edward J. McGarry III; stepsisters, Julie M. Holswade (Henry) and Elizabeth M. Trop (David); numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at Bliley's-Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Road, where a funeral service will be held at 12 noon. Interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Huntington's Disease Society of America or to a local animal shelter.
