BRANN, Charles William "Bill", 92, of Sandy Point, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2009. He was a retired Postmaster for U.S. Postal Service, a World War II Army veteran, a member of Yeocomico Episcopal Church and a member of the American Legion. Mr. Brann was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Presley Brann and Annie Morris Brann; two brothers, James Earl Brann and Allen Tayloe Brann; and his companion and fianc‚e of 25 years, Polly Southworth. He is survived by nephew, Allen Tayloe Brann Jr. of Callao; three nieces, Carol B. Mahan of Warsaw, Shirley B. Morris of Warsaw, and Elizabeth B. Johnston of Heathsville; and his devoted friends, Thomas C. Mahan, Carrington Mothershead, Andy Johnston, and Reba Connors. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at Yeocomico Episcopal Church on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 with interment in church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Welch Funeral Home, Marks Chapel this evening (Tuesday). Memorial contributions may be made to the Richmond County Rescue Squad or to the American Heart Association.
