Bobby Leon Brann

Bobby Leon Brann, lovingly known as "Pop" or "PaPa" by his children and grandchildren, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025, surrounded by his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Bobby lived a long and full life rooted in hard work, faith, and deep love for those around him.
Born on November 10, 1935, to Jack and Minerva Brann, Bobby grew up working on the family farm, a place that shaped his strong work ethic and lifelong love of the outdoors. He graduated from Bethel Hill High School in 1953 and proudly served in the National Guard. He went on to spend 35 years with the American Tobacco Company before retiring.
In retirement, Bobby found his greatest joy in caring for his family. As "Pop," he cherished babysitting his grandchildren, transporting them to and from school, and being present for every milestone. He enjoyed life's simple pleasures: hunting, fishing, gardening, riding his tractor, chopping wood, and treating himself to chocolate and ice cream. Bobby took great pride in the farm he shared with Patsy, and he deeply valued his family, friends, and church family.
Bobby loved the hymn Amazing Grace, and he truly lived his life with that same grace and kindness - quietly giving, gently leading, and always showing compassion to others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Minerva Brann, and his sister, Hilda Winstead.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patsy Clayton Brann of the home; his children: Melissa Currier and Geoffrey Brann and his wife, Haley Brann; three brothers: Wilbur "Stump" Brann and wife Becky, Ricky Brann and wife Donna, and Keith Brann and wife Kim and brother-in-law, Butch Winstead.
Pop leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Madeline and husband Bryce Henderson, Brannon Erdner and fiancée Kelli DiMaggio, Sophie Erdner, Grayson Brann, Hannah Brann, Jackson Brann, and Katie Claire Brann; and his great-granddaughter, Aria Erdner.
Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 PM Sunday, November 23, 2025 at the Brooks & White Chapel and at other times the family welcomes visitors, food, and fellowship at the home-place (460 Berman Clayton Road, Timberlake, NC 27583).
Funeral service will be 11 AM Monday, November 24, 2025 at Mt. Tirzah United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roderick Mullin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Danny Lowery, Billy Day, Barry Rudder, Phillip Clayton, Reese Clayton, Ted Whitfield and Kevin Brann.
