JoAnn Pleasant Bowling

JoAnn Pleasant Bowling, 85, of Timberlake, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 21, 2025. Born in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Wilbert Alvin Pleasant and Elma Lucy Jackson Pleasant. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Troy Lee Bowling, Sr.
JoAnn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a devoted nurse, who touched many lives. She enjoyed growing roses and sharing them with others. When her children were young she was actively involved in their many extra curricular activities, scouting and education.
JoAnn is survived by her three sons: Troy Lee Bowling, Jr. of Richmond, VA, Ronald Dale Bowling (Rosaley) and Michael Wayne Bowling (Kathy) all of Timberlake; her grandchildren: Christina Kubala (Alex), Tyler Lee Bowling (Brittany), Katie Bowling Webb (Nick), Eddie Kelly (Tammy), Brenna Harmon (Tim), Danny Tizon (Haley) and Ronald Luke Bowling; great-grandchildren: Braden Kubala, Canon Kubala, Oaklee JoAnn Bowling and Rease Webb; one brother, Charles Pleasant (Debra).
Funeral service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Gateway Baptist Church with the Pastor Phillips Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (10-11 AM).
