Rebecca Johnson Link, 51, of Holly Springs, NC, passed away on November 15, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. After a brave 1.5-year battle with cancer, she left this world with the same courage, grace, and strength that guided her throughout her life.
Becky was the cherished daughter of Juanita and Larry Johnson. She spent her childhood in Monroe, NC, attending East Elementary, Monroe Middle and High Schools before her family moved to
Roxboro, NC, where she graduated from Person Senior High School in 1992. She later earned her BA in Industrial Relations from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1997 and completed an Accounting Degree from NCSU in 1999. Becky worked at Eaton Corporation until she embraced her greatest and most meaningful role - becoming a mother. Her children were the joy of her heart, and she devoted herself fully to raising them with love, patience, and unwavering devotion.
Music was woven into Becky's life from the very beginning. She played instruments, sang in choirs, and used her gifts to lift the hearts of others - from Heels to Heaven at UNC, to the Roxboro Community Choir. She joyfully directed choirs and shared her talent on the piano in various churches. Becky also had a deep love of dance, especially during her time on the Drill Team, and her passion for the arts blossomed throughout her life. She delighted in the magic of theater, attending over 100 Broadway productions, and performing in local shows from childhood through adulthood, including the beloved Red Stocking Revue.
Becky loved sports and was an unwavering fan of her Tennessee Vols and UNC Tar Heels. She rarely missed watching a game! In recent years, she also found fun and connection with professional sports through fantasy football with Christie and the kids. She embraced every opportunity to create memories, celebrate life, and pour love into the people around her. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she lived it with quiet grace, generosity, and a gentle spirit that made everyone feel welcomed, seen, and cherished.
One of Becky's greatest joys in the last decade was watching her daughter dance. She never missed a moment - each performance filled her with pure joy and awe. Becky also cherished watching her son grow into a remarkable young man. His charisma, humor, sensitivity and natural charm brought her so much pride. She also enjoyed her sports banter with Sam and Brayden and seeing Mckenzie grow into a vibrant young woman. Becky was a devoted friend whose kindness, warmth, and steady presence left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She brought joy where there was heaviness, laughter where there was worry, and love wherever she went.
Becky loved her family deeply - not only her immediate family but also her cousins, aunts, uncles and extended relatives, with whom she shared lifelong closeness. She valued those relationships dearly and the feeling was mutual. She often shared so many fond memories of trips to TN and family gatherings. Becky's presence will be extremely missed.
One of the greatest blessings in Becky's life was her loving partnership with Christie. Their relationship was built on deep love, friendship, mutual respect, and a shared dedication to their blended family. Christie stood by Becky's side celebrating her triumphs, supporting her dreams, quieting her fears and lifting her up with unwavering devotion during her illness. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, warmth, and a sense of belonging felt by everyone who entered it.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Juanita and Larry Johnson.
She is survived by her partner, Christie Lambert; her children, Wesley B. Link and Margaret F. Link; Christie's children, Samuel, Brayden, and McKenzie Lambert; and her beloved dog, Cooper. She is also survived by her stepmother, Janice Johnson; her siblings, Lanita Presson (Steve) and Bill Johnson (Donna); her stepsister, Bridgit Jones (Berk); and many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles who adored her.
Becky will be deeply missed, yet her love, her laughter, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
