Oh my dear friend Teresa it is so hard to believe that you left us 11 years ago. I still remember your smile, your sense of humor, always talking about the race outcome on Mondays, talking about the animals visiting you in at you home or was it a Pet Sanctuary? L.O.L . When I go to the Columbia boat landing to fish I always look up the hill at your graveside and I get so sad, you should be with me fishing! I do miss you so and I will never forget you my dear friend.

I am so sorry for your loss it sounds like Teresa was a wonderful woman that was loved by many. I was given this link by my aunt Elaine Yagen, she and I have recently gotten back in touch and she knows that I am very interested in finding out about my family. My name is Tony Powell and my father was Johnny Powell, Elaine's brother. Please feel free to contact me anytime, once again I am truly sorry that I didn't get a chance to know her and I really hope I get the chance to know some of the rest of you. Love, Tony

To Teresa's family, what a remarkable woman I learned Teresa to be, through Mary Ruth's devotion to her beloved sister. Teresa surely knew how loved she was by family and friends. Blessings to all who are experiencing Teresa's passing.

To John and Teresa's Family although no words can take away the sorrow that you bear, may it be a comfort to know she was loved by many and will be remembered. I met Teresa through Debby when we were in Richmond and felt like she was a lifelong friend right from the start. Lately the only way we could keep in touch was through email. I was so glad to see her at the baby shower for little Ryan. She looked good and her spirit was strong. She had grace during her illness and maintained her sense of humor and her bright smile. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you. May god sustain you in your hour of need and grant you inner peace

Teresa, my dear friend.
Oh how I will miss your smile, your laugh, your clothes with cat hair clinging to the fibers, your cheerful voice, the clicking of your bling jewelry, your ever changing foot wardrobe and, most of all, your friendship. You inspired me to achieve more than I thought I could and I will miss you so much.

To my dear friends, Mary Ruth and Teresa: I feel forever grateful and blessed that you could join Lucy and me last summer for a beautiful evening of pizza, concert, and most importantly, lots of laughter. We were so touched by your sisterly closeness and I will always remember the shining love and claritiy so present in Teresa's bright green eyes. You remain in my prayers.

I was absolutely stunned and saddened to learn about Mrs. Burton's death. I happened upon the obituary by accident and when I saw her name, my heart stopped. I am a nurse on 6 East at St. Mary's hospital and had the pleasure of taking care of her smiling face on several different occasions. She was a ray of sunshine and never had a bad thing to say. Even if she was in pain, she never complained. She was a truly wonderful woman and I feel very grateful that I had the chance to get to know her. My deepest prayers and thoughts go to her family. I'm sure she will be greatly missed as I know that all of us here on 6 East will definitely miss her. She will always be in my heart. Sincerely, Jaime N. Kimbel

Many prayers go out to her family and friends . . . she was loved by so many!

The Burton Family,
Words cannot explain what type of person Teresa was. She was a loving and always nice person and her husband was her life. She smiled and always kept the faith. God is definitely gonna take care of her now. To the Burton Family stay strong and remember god does things for a reason and trust and believe in him and you all will definitely come through. Teresa, you have fought the good fight of "faith". Wow.. a true testimony of faith. We enter into Holy Week, the sacred days before Easter. We recall the ministry of Jesus, his last supper with his friends, his passion and his death. On Easter Sunday, with the entire Christian family, we celebrate Christ's resurrection and the liberration of the world from the slavery of sin and death. This comes from our Daily Reflection ; we will miss you. It is sad that you are not with us but you are with Christ and what a joy that must be. We love you and will continue to pray for your family.
