Thomas Fitzgerald Obituary

Fitzgerald, Thomas P. TROY Thomas P. Fitzgerald, 72, died peacefully Monday, April 21, 2008. Born in Albany, Thomas was the son of the late Francis J. and Catherine Shaftick Fitzgerald. Educated in Watervliet schools, Thomas resided in Watervliet for many years prior to moving to Latham. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was employed by the A&P Market in Watervliet. Prior to his retirement, Thomas was employed by the water department for the City of Watervliet. Thomas was a member of the Watervliet AOH and was a past president and a lifetime member. He was the loving brother of Robert Fitzgerald (Shirley) and brother-in-law of Lauraine Fitzgerald and Patricia Fitzgerald; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Brother of the late Francis Fitzgerald Jr., Katherine "Kay" Lasek, Nicholas Fitzgerald, Paul Fitzgerald and Patricia Fitzgerald. Funeral from the Konicek & Collett Funeral Home, LLC, 1855 12th Avenue, Watervliet on Friday morning at 9:15 a.m., thence to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Watervliet-Shaker Rd., Latham where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Water-vliet. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Colonie EMS Benevolent Association, 312 Wolf Road, Colonie, NY 12110 or Colonie Senior Services Center (Transportation Services), 6 Winner Circle, Colonie, NY 12205.
