Charles Gillette Obituary

Gillette, Charles E. HOOSICK FALLS Charles E. Gillette, died May 4, 2008 in Hoosick Falls New York at the age of 88. Mr. Gillette is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gwyneth Young Gillette; a daughter and her husband, Caroline and Noel Ashton of Cambridge and a son, David Charles Gillette of Albany. Friends and colleagues are invited to attend a memorial service honoring the life of Charles E. Gillette, former senior scientist of archaeology for the New York State Museum. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, St. Luke's Place, Cambridge, N.Y. with a reception following in the parish hall. The family requests memorial donations be made to either NYS Archeological Association, Van-Epps-Hartley Chapter, c/o Wayne Lenig, P.O. Box 102, Ft. Johnson, NY 12070; Cornell College, 600 First Street West, Mount Vernon, IA 52314-1098 or Hoosick Falls Health Center, 21 Danforth Street, Hoosick Falls, NY 12090. Arrangements are under the direction of Ackley & Ross Funeral Home, Cambridge, N.Y.

Gwyneth, Its been many years since I have seen you and Charlie when we were both at Trinity Methodist church and Charlie at the VanEpps-Hartley Chapter meetings. I have many fond memories of those times. My deepest sympathy is with you and your family.
