I was very sorry to hear of Derrick's death. I was a friend of Candace, Ann and Kathy during high school. I will remember him fondly as Candace's kid brother.

I met Derrick at a Personal Training conference in 1996, we became friends and he introduced me to Mountain Biking and the Dave Matthews band...both of which I still love. I have never found a mountain biking partner who was nearly as much fun as Derrick. We had a lot of laughs. Will miss my friend.

Derrick, Thank you for being such a wonderful friend and neighbor over these many years. We had so much fun growing up on Redmond street, thanks for the memories. Your positive attitude and zest for life is a example for the rest of us to follow. I know you are now with the Lord in joyful bliss in the company of your old friends Mary, Ann Marie and Ronnie and you parents. Thank you for your gift of Randi to us, we will take good care of her. To the family and loved ones of Derrick: I learned of Derrick's passing the day after Ken's memorial service. We both thought so much of Derrick - he shared his experiences dealing with leukemia, and we were convinced that he had it beaten. His passing would have hurt Ken deeply. I hope they're together looking down at us.

Derrick,
I never think of you without that mischiefness twinkle in your eye. Some people wait for life to happen. You always made it happen. Maybe now we know why.
You also spent a good part of your short life finding the right partner. Again, Randi answers that question of why.

I'm so thankful to have met Derrick before he passed on. My heart aches for you at this most difficult time. Derrick was truly blessed to have found you in this world. Derrick was in my graduating class, and was my friend. We had a lot of fun cutting up in class, and getting ourselves into our share of trouble!!
He was such a free spirit, always laughing, and always kind. That was what attracted so many of us to his circle of friends.

Derrick was one of my most favorite patients. He and I had SO many great conversations and it is so hard to believe he is gone. I will truly miss his smiling face and upbeat spirit.
Randi- Derrick was so lucky to have such a devoted and loving companion. He ALWAYS told me how thankful he was that you were a part of his life and how much he appreciated all you did. You really are an amazing woman. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
