Rosemarie Clark Obituary

Clark, Rosemarie CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. Rosemarie Duffney Clark, 72, of LaCosta Drive, was stricken at home and entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 27, 2008. Born in Mechanicville, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Rose Kusick Duffney. Rosemarie dedicated many years to raising her children and homemaking. She then worked with the NYS Department of Tax and Finance, for over 20 years, until her retirement 10 years ago. She always beamed with pride over her children's and grandchild-ren's accomplishments, no matter how trite they seemed to others, and was always there to lend a generous, helping and caring hand to her family. She is the beloved mother of Kenneth Clark Jr. of Saratoga Springs, Thomas Clark of Lakewood, Colo., Lynn Lehman of Ballston Lake and Nancy (Raul) Gonzalez of Saint Mary's, Ga.; and cherished grandmother of, in her words, the lights of her life, Kevin and Rene Lehman, and Desirae and Elena Clark. She is the dear sister of Millie (John) Vickery, Thelma Duffney, and Miles (Donna) Duffney, all of Stillwater, Elaine Vredenburg of Mechanicville and Francis (Cheryl) Duffney of Las Vegas; along with many nieces and nephews. Rosemarie was predeceased by her dearly loved sister, Virginia Micklas. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Rosemarie's caring niece and husband Lisa and Bob Petta, for responding so quickly with assistance and compassion, and to the Clifton Park EMS responders and sher-iff's deputies for the professionalism and caring attention. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Assumption-St. Paul North Main St. Church in Mechanicville. Burial in Hudson View Cemetery. Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville on Wednesday, 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children or St. Jude's Children's Hospital, in loving memory of Rosemarie Duffney Clark.

Rosemarie was my secretary for something like 10 years at the Tax Dept. She kept track of things like how many years! Rosemarie was probably the only person who could read my terrible handwriting and I've caught myself trying to read something I've written and wondering if she could figure it out!She retired a short time before I did and we talked now and then after that. I remember calling her when my husband died. She knew what a nice person he was and probably wondered how he got somebody as testy as me! We did not share a lot personally but I certainly knew how very important her children and grandchildren were to her and know you and other family will miss her dearly. I'm remembering a few good laughs we had over the years and hope as the shock of her passing eases up that all the good times you had with her soften the loss.
