In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

linda i hope this helps comfort you i just found out last night your mother had passed and was sorry to hear god will help you thru this as you know

Linda and family

I am so sorry about your mom's passing. I worked with Lois for a long time at St. Mary's and sort of watched some of you grow up. Lois was a great lady and a good friend. I am glad I got to see her recently, although not for a good reason. She will be in my prayers. I am glad she got to go on so many trips and enjoy some retirement time. My sympathy to the whole family

you've only been gone for a few days but you are greatly missed by so many people. I hope you looked down from heaven and saw the beautiful wake and funeral you were given by the people who loved you most; your family. I know you will be watching over all of us. you were more than a mother-in-law to me. you were like a mother, so caring and patient with everyone and you never interferred or critisized. you had a good sense of humor and took things in stride. Vince and I will miss you greatly til we see each other again. love, vince and debbie

To Lois's Family:

I have had the pleasure of knowing Lois, since my sons and I attended Grace Church. Recently, she attended several of our Thursday night healing services and simple suppers at St. George's, and it was a joy to see her again. She was always a kind, loving, and gracious lady. I will miss her, but I am sure I will see her again.

God bless you all.

Grace and peace,

Dear Family
I was so saddened to read of Lois' passing. We met 42 years ago at St. Mary's Hospital as novice transcriptionists. We learned the job together and became very good friends. She was such a fun person to work with. We also carpooled together. Lois was like a second mother to me. Although our lives took us in different directions, with my leaving the work force to raise a family, we did make it a point to stay in touch over the years, be it by phone or getting together on occasion. I was very fortunate to get to work with her once again for a brief time at Eddy Cohoes Rehab. Center so many years later. At that time we got to go away to Atlantic City together and what a great time we had. Lois was one of a kind. She was a very kind, giving, loving, fun person and probably the most honest person I have every known. She loved her children and grandchildren and loved sharing stories about them. She was so very proud of her family and their accomplishments. She worked so hard for so long to support her family, even through the many illnesses she had to face. I took such satisfaction to see her finally enjoying the good life in her retirement years, with her vacation home in NC and her trips to Ireland, Branson, etc.. She was enjoying life to the fullest and certainly deserved all of the good times that came her way.
Sadly, Lois and I lost touch in the past few years. I thought that she left Waterford and was living in NC on a full time basis. I only wish I had known that she was back in this area. I have thought of her often and wondered how she was doing. I am now pretty much home bound and on oxygen 24/7 because of COPD and unfortunately, I am unable to attend her wake and funeral.
My thoughts are with all of you in these very difficult days. Take comfort in the knowledge that she loved all of you with her whole heart and soul. I will certainly miss my wonderful friend.

Dear Jennifer and family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I have never known anyone like Lois. She was so filled with God's peace and sense of purpose. She truly touched the lives of everyone that she came in contact with. I visited her as part of the pastoral care team when she was in Schuyler Meadows and I learned from her faith even then. Over the years she has been such a major part of our family at Grace Church. What a beautiful person and servant of God. Please know that you are all in our hearts and prayers.
