Rose Marie Pickett

Pickett, Rose Marie MECHANICVILLE Mrs. Rose Marie Pickett, 62, of Park Place, died Friday morning, December 7, 2007 at home, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Born in Troy, November 10, 1945, she was the daughter of Mrs. Marie "Net" Kitrick of Mechanicville, and the late Arthur Kitrick. A 1963 graduate of Mechanicville High School and a 1966 graduate of the Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing, Rose Marie was a registered nurse, who worked her entire career at Samaritan Hospital. She will be sadly missed by her colleagues. She was a communicant of Assumption St. Paul Catholic Church in Mechanicville and the rosary altar society, and a proud member of the Samaritan School of Nursing Alumni. A wonderful cook, Rose Marie had a large circle of family and friends, but the most important aspect of her life was her husband, sons and their wives and her cherished grandchildren. Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband of 40 years, Daniel T. Pickett Jr.; her three sons, Daniel T. and Janine Pickett III of Clifton Park, John and Amy Pickett of Mechanic-ville, Christopher and Melissa Pickett of Clifton Park; six grandchildren, Caroline, Olivia, Jonathan, Daniel T. IV, Jacob and Ryan Pickett; also her sister, Gerri Andrews of Hudson, N.H.; along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Assumption-St. Paul North Main Street Church. Burial in Saratoga National Cemetery. Calling hours at the North Main Street Church on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Capital District Cancer Resource Foundation, 1003 Loudon Road, PO Box 610, Latham, NY 12110.
