James Ciaccia Obituary

Ciaccia, James B. VALATIE James B. Ciaccia, 50, of Kinderkill Lane, Valatie, N.Y., a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, died at home in the arms of his beloved wife of 30 years, Roxanne Ciaccia, on Saturday, December 8, 2007. Born in Albany, September 17, 1957, he was the son of the late Joseph and Shirley (Kiernan) Ciaccia. Jim worked for the University of Albany in shipping and receiving. His passions in life were his grandbabies and the freedom of riding his 2002 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail Classic with his family and friends close behind him. Besides his wife, he is the father of Mary Lauster (Ciaccia) and her husband Jody and James B. Ciaccia Jr. and the proud grandfather of Alysha Mae and Carly Morgan. He is also survived by his sister Mary, his brother Joseph, several nieces and nephews, his aunt Mary E. Kiernan, and uncle Thomas Kiernan. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Inc., Route 9, Valatie, N.Y. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. One of Jim's requests was that the family and friends wear casual attire to the services.

Jim,
Wow, it's been a month already. Seems like yesterday. Just wanted to say we will miss you greatly, building the house, eating, the bike rides, eating, the winter weekend rides in the truck, eating, camping, eating, etc... It won't be the same.
Kevin and I bet you're up there riding with Uncle Bill. Hope you two have a good time together.
Until we see you again Big Jim, keep riding.

Oh, Papa Ciacc ...I'm not even sure of what to say . You're one hell of a man, you were like a second dad to me and for that I will forever be grateful. I will never forget the numerous times I spent at your home in my "teeny boppin'" years and the life lessons that you stayed trying to drill into my thick head at every given opportunity you had! I must say though that the snow storm that "stranded" me with all of you for days was one of my best memories.....going out to eat chinese when there wasn't a single "normal" soul around and don't forget the "fishing" in your kitchen where I swear to this day you were doing something "funky" hahaha. You cracked jokes and harassed Mary and I all of the time, but we knew that was your way of saying "I love ya"....so papa your time here with us may be done but your memory and love we have for you will forever remain strong in our hearts. Miss ya and love ya till I see ya......

Tara

Dad,

We are going to miss you so much. I could not have asked for a better father or grandfather. I am going to miss our long weekends in Lake George, trying to find a last minute babysiter because you want to hop in the bikes and go, I am going to miss riding with you..."only five more miles mar" and it ends up being 55!!! I am going to miss you picking on me and "fat boy", I am going to miss you playing and laughing with the girls. Just remember that Carly loves you with all of her heart and she is sending you special mooches.
And you will always be in Alysha's heart. They will always be your number one girls! Dad, I love you so much..and we are goig to take care of Mom.

Love,
Mary
