Abraham Katz Obituary

Katz, Abraham M. SCHENECTADY Abraham M. Katz, age 90, died on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born n Schenectady, he was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and a lifelong resident. He was the owner of Katz and Wennar Jewelers, which he started in 1953. Abe was a member of Congregation Gates of Heaven. He is survived by his beloved niece, Karla, and many special and dear friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Florence Stuempfle. A memorial service was held at Congregation Gates of Heaven, 852 Ashmore Ave., Schenectady, N.Y. on Monday, December 10, 2007.

My condolences to Abe Katz's family. I met him for the first time two years ago while at a CGOH service. My grandparents, the Bariles, lived next door to the Katz family on Delamont Avenue, and my mother grew up with Florence. I grew up with many fond memories of your entire family.
