I have had the pleasure and opportunity too actually know and work with Matt (or as the cyber world knew him Sonami) for 1 year hear at Seneca Corporation.
Matt was a person that you could defiantly count on if you needed something, he was the type of person who would lend a helping hand at a drop of a dime, he was just an all around great person that I had the pleasure to get to know, be around and to converse with. There are so many things one could say about Matt which can only be described as a tribute and testimony to him and to his family.
Matt was a laid back and seemingly quite person in my eyes and for the short time that I have had the pleasure to laugh, joke, work, play chess and converse with Matt we had become friends as well as co-workers and I’ll defiantly miss seeing that smile he’d greet me with in the morning when he arrived to work like he knew something I didn’t; as well as the joke or comment he would have for me when I was leaving for the day.
Matt was genuinely one of a kind in my book and I’ll miss the 8 hours we spent together everyday.
I would like to send my deepest sympathy and condolences to his family and loved ones.
Matt you'll be sorely missed!!!

From first meeting to his passing Matt (Sonami to me in game) was always willing to mentor and guide and remain a gentleman. The world is short on men of such character...I will forever feel this loss.

I, too, only knew Matt from our online conversations. He was a strong, intelligent and determined person. He was always there to offer a helping hand and always ready to be a leader, whatever the situation.
I am truly saddened for all of Matt's family and friends and my prayers are with you and Matt. May you find comfort knowing just how many lives he touched in his all too short time on this Earth.

I, too, never knew Matt face-to-face, but his kindness and leadership will forever lead us on. He was a wonderful man, so caring of so many people, even ones in our little world of Everquest. He will be missed greatly by all.

Because of the high standards Matt set for the guild that he was leader of, it took me a year to progress my character and reach the level required to even be accepted into that guild. I was honored when I was accepted, and looked up to him as a leader that I would follow into any battle. It might be just an online game, but the essence of the man I knew, had to also be present in real life, as a son, brother, friend and co-worker.
That is the person I had the privilege to come to know, and the person who I still shed tears daily over the loss of.
My prayers go out to you, Matt's family. I am familiar with the sudden loss of one so close, and know what you are experiencing. My heart also goes out to you in your time of grief.
Your memory will live long, Matt.

I knew Matt only through The Internet Game which we shared for many years. I knew him as a very knowledgeable player, passionate leader and a person to talk to when times were bad. He was always thinking of others and strove to make the game more enjoyable for everyone,In short a good friend. His personiality shone through like few others in our digitized world. Though a video game may not sound like a fitting tribute to this great man It is the game that allowed Matt to touch the lives of literally thousands of people throughout the entire world and make it a better place in his own way.He will be sadly missed,
my condolences to his family and friends

Matt (Sona) was an incredible person that thought bout others before himself. I spoke with Matt many times and know of his love for his friends and family. I remember his anxiety over his mom in the hospital last year and his thoughts bout her well being. He was a truly gifted player in the game of Everquest but more importantly he instilled important qualities in me and other players of his guild. A personal message to Matt himself but I know you will be waiting in the next world for the rest of us to guide our steps once again my dear friend. You may be gone from our everyday lives but your spirit burns strong in each and everyone of us.

I truly appreciated the indepth knowledge that Matt brought to the virtual online game of Everquest. He could always be counted on to know the strategies of every fight. He knew of all the classes very well. When he was leading, his high expectation of us made us do a better job. I never met Matt or even knew what his name was but I knew him: dedicated, focused, highly disciplined, & trusted. I will miss you.

My acquaintance with Matt was not face-to-face, in the traditional way of meeting and getting to know someone. My acquaintance with Matt was made in a virtual world of the Internet. For over a year, I have associated with him in that realm on almost a nightly basis. Our familiarity was limited to that virtual world (EQ), but no less enjoyable or meaningful than if we had met face-to-face.
My sorrow at his passing is no less painful than if he had become an acquaintance in the traditional sense. Make no mistake about it, I still mourn.
Matt, as the character Sonami in a video game, was a leader who I gladly followed. He was stern, but kind, and logical. He never could understand why so many wanted to converse with him in the game we played, and often complained about how many "tells" he would get, when he was busy trying to do something else.
Matt, I'm hoping you now know that it was because you were such a kewl person to associate with, and because we loved you so much.

I knew Matt only through the internet, but in ways I felt that I knew him more than people I know in the flesh. I know many people will not understand this.
I knew Matt as a leader, a mentor, and a friend. He touched my life in ways that I would not have believed. He was personable, but not weak. He will be sorely missed in the community I knew him in, Eternal Sovereign.
God bless.
